How my favourite band made me successful
I remember as a teenager only making art related to my favourite band: making t-shirts, drawing interpretations of different songs, banners, designing album covers.
That work is what got me interested in design (and what got me accepted to my uni course even though I had no creative A-levels).
All of my best work in uni was inspired by something related to the band, because there was an added layer of passion for creating something. It must have shone through to the tutors as well.
I created art surrounding things I actually cared about. And I didn't care if other people liked it, because it was my expression of my love for something that was personal.
๐ I was driven to create things fuelled by something that genuinely interested me. And I could spend weeks at a time only focusing on this one idea.
โคท Passion
๐ I had so many different interests, that I could easily see where a combination of those interests didn't exist. So I made it myself.
โคท Creativity
In the end, that's what's making Journee such a success too. My passion for journaling shines through in every decision I make for the app, and that creativity is what lead me to the idea in the first place.
