Doing Hard Things
I hate doing hard things. But I love having done hard things.
The biggest game-changer in my self-improvement journey was realising that reaching a goal makes you feel good once. Putting the work in to get a step closer to your goal feels good every time.
So I started using my feeling of accomplishment as the motivation. Not the goal that was miles away.
Everyone experiences this:
❌ You really don't wanna go gym.
✅ But you KNOW you always thrive off that endorphin rush.
❌ You're not inspired to work on your side project.
✅ But you KNOW how good you feel when you're in the zone.
❌ You wish you hadn't made social plans.
✅ But KNOW you'll have a good time once you're out.
Reminding yourself of that feeling you KNOW you always have after doing something hard - that's the high you should be chasing.
And you can rely on getting it every damn time. So the work is always worth it.
