My biggest travel lesson
Five months ago I became a digital nomad and moved to Da Nang in Vietnam to work on my journalling app, Journee, full time.
Da Nang is a beach city. And like clockwork, every day at 5pm, the beach is absolutely rammed with locals. 🏝
And I always watch them in awe.
Because every single person there is enjoying time with family, eating food, swimming in the clear blue water.
Young children play in the sand, while their great grandparents swing their arms above their head to keep their joints in good shape.
Everyone's having a good time, and the vibes are impeccable. 🌞
Of course, there's no arguing that there's huge difference in wealth among people in Da Nang: Some work in the city in skyscrapers, while others sell bahn bao (iykyk) on the side of the street.
But every single day, they ALL make their way to the same beach to enjoy the water before the sun goes down.
Why am I telling you this story?
Because even though they make vastly different amounts of money, the people of Da Nang all want to spend their afternoon the same way.
And it's a huge reminder that money is not a barrier to actually enjoying your life.
And that if you have:
And that if you have:
And that if you have:
And that if you have:
And that if you have:
And that if you have:
You are already wealthier than you realise.
So while I'm still working hard toward making Journee a success, I'll be bringing back such an immense amount of gratitude for what I already have when I return home. 🥰
Because in so many ways, I'm already wealthy.
