I kind of love this toxic trait

When I was a broke uni student, if I ever wanted a cool t-shirt or piece of artwork that I couldn't afford, I would always think to myself:

"I bet I could make that myself"

So with that belief, I would go out and buy the supplies and create my own version!

And it saved me a tonne of money over the years. Even if it wasn't exactly like the original, it was my perfect version, tailored to me!

And I've realised that this little belief I had resulted in a more foundational part of my personality.

→ See cool artwork? "I can make my own version"

→ Someone's amazing skill? "I could learn that"

→ An innovative product? "I'd design this bit differently"

Sound familiar?

Here's the plot twist: This 'toxic' trait is my secret weapon.

This DIY mindset isn't about me being arrogant. MAYBE it's me being delusional 🤣

But it is about possibility. It's the spark that ignites innovation.

↳ Instead of waiting for solutions, I create them.

↳ Instead of admiring from afar, I dive in and learn.

↳ Instead of settling, I imagine better alternatives.

This is exactly how Journee was born.

I wanted to get more out of my own journaling experience with prompts that were personal to me! So I thought "I can build that," and got to work.

So remember, belief in yourself and a drive to create what you want to see in the world will get you further than waiting on a solution ever could.

And don't forget to be a bit delusional sometimes 😘
