Working for yourself
The BIGGEST myth about working for yourself👇🏻
As a new founder, one of my biggest expectations about entrepreneurship crashed and burned hard.
And it was an obvious one. 🥲
Here it is:
➡️ There's no such thing as "working for yourself". ⬅️
Obvs 🙃
Instead of answering to a boss, I now answer to:
🫡 Users with ideas for new features.
🫡 Developers with questions (shoutout to Martin👋🏻).
🫡 The high bar of my own productivity.
To be clear, I get to chase my passion on my terms. And that's an incredibly privileged position to be in.
But the "sip a cocktail on a secluded island" fantasy? Sorry, it's just not a reality. 🤷🏼♀️
The upside?
💜 Now I'm driven by impact - helping people live their dream life with Journee.
I’m working on my own dream, not someone else's AND I’m serving humans whose dreams align with mine. ✨
So yeah, I still don't "work for myself". But who I do work for is far more fulfilling.
