You can't escape yourself
I've officially been traveling for 6 months! I've learned so much, including the fact that...
No matter where in the world you are, you can't escape yourself. π
When I arrived in Asia at the beginning of this year I felt on top of the world - like a new, unstoppable version of me. πͺπΌ
I thought a brand new version of me was waiting on the other side of leaving the UK.
When in fact the opposite was true:
Every country, experience, new set of people only exposed the weak spots that I still needed to work on. (and also unlocked new ones, woo!π)
Traveling lets you observe your behaviour in so many different places and realise it's actually YOU that's the common denominator.
This lifestyle forced me to look at the areas I'd been hiding from, start to recognise and work through them.
Again and again.
β¨THAT is the beauty of travel - and the reason I think it has such a profound impact on so many people.β¨
You have to make the conscious choice to either ignore who you are deep down, or face yourself head on.
It's a long road, and it's not easy by any means, but it's a unique opportunity and a gift:
π You're being given a constant set of chances to start fresh - and to make a different choice about who you want to be.
You just have to decide who that is. And keep showing up as them until it sticks! π
